Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Greece

The Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change (YPEKA) is the overall competent authority in Greece dealing with matters related to climate change adaptation and mitigation programmes and measures. The ministry studies projections, coordinates the planning of actions in specific sectors, implements activities to raise public awareness and disseminates relevant information.

At national level, one priority of the YPEKA is to tackle climate change. The ministry’s Directorate of Atmospheric Pollution and Noise Control is committed to implementing the provisions of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which include adaptation measures and the dissemination of all relevant information to local communities, regional offices and members of the public.
