Goulandris Natural History Museum, Biotope Wetland Centre, Greece

The Greek Biotope Wetland Centre (EKBY), which is part of the highly esteemed Goulandris Natural History Museum (www.gnhm.gr), aims to promote the sustainable management of renewable natural resources in Greece and other areas of the Mediterranean basin and Europe. The activities of the EKBY include tasks related to the Habitats and Birds Directives; Natura 2000 management, planning and monitoring; the Water Framework Directive; wetlands inventories, monitoring and assessment; national biodiversity strategies and action plans; vocational training; and the provision of information and advisory support to public services, local authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders.
